If you missed the CHSL 2026 form (it closed on 7 October 2026), the next window is SSC CHSL 2027. The notice is expected sometime between April and September 2027. The upload part is the same as other SSC exams: the photo is captured live, and you upload a 10–20 KB JPG signature.
SSC CHSL (Combined Higher Secondary Level) recruits Class 12 pass candidates for posts such as Lower Division Clerk, Junior Secretariat Assistant, Postal Assistant and Data Entry Operator in central government offices.

How to prepare each file
Signature. Sign on white paper with a black or blue pen, in running handwriting rather than capital letters. Crop out the blank paper and fit it with the SSC signature resizer. If it is still too heavy, use compress image to 20 KB. Do not shrink it so much that it becomes blurry: SSC can reject blurred or miniature signatures.
Live photo. Use a well-lit spot facing a window, with a plain wall behind you. Take off caps, masks and sunglasses. The application checks image quality, so a dim room or a face out of the frame often fails.
Printed photos. Keep a few recent passport size prints. If another form asks for a scanned photo, the SSC photo resizer makes one quickly.
Certificates. Scan your Class 12 marksheet and any category certificate now. Keep them under the stated size with compress PDF to 200 KB so you are ready for document verification.

Getting the live photo right
Because the photo is captured inside the form, you cannot fix it later in an editor. Before you open the photo step:
- Sit facing a window or a bright lamp, with a plain wall behind you.
- Keep the phone or webcam at eye level and steady.
- Remove caps, masks and sunglasses, and keep your face straight in the frame.
- Use the same look you will have on exam day, since your face may be checked at the centre.
Common reasons applications get stuck
- Live photo failing due to poor light or a face not centred.
- Signature outside 10–20 KB, in capital letters, or too small to read.
- Class 10 name or date of birth not matching the OTR.
- Not keeping the OTR login details safe; the same OTR is used across SSC exams.
- Waiting for the last few days, when the portal slows down.
The CHSL eligibility rule is Class 12 pass by the cut-off date in the notice. If you are in Class 12 now, check that date in the 2027 notice before applying.
