Image to Base64

Get a data URL for HTML or CSS, or turn Base64 back into an image file.

Embedding small icons as Base64 saves an HTTP request. Copy the result as a raw data URL, a CSS background or an <img> tag.

How to use it

  1. Choose an image.
  2. Copy the data URL in the format you need.
  3. To decode, paste Base64 text and press Download image.

Questions

Are my files uploaded to a server?

No. The tool runs entirely in your browser using JavaScript, so your files never leave your device. You can even disconnect from the internet after the page loads and it keeps working.
