The SSC GD Constable 2027 form is expected between October and December 2026. SSC's calendar was reported to target around 30 September 2026, and the previous form ran 1–31 December 2025. SSC GD recruits Constables (General Duty) for the central armed police forces, such as BSF, CISF, CRPF, ITBP, SSB and Assam Rifles, plus some other forces. Class 10 pass candidates in the age range can apply. After the CBE come the physical tests, a medical exam and document verification.

How to prepare each file
Signature. Sign in your normal running handwriting on plain white paper. Crop it tightly and resize it with the SSC signature resizer. If it is still too heavy, use compress image to 20 KB.
Live photo. Stand or sit facing a light source with a plain wall behind you. Remove any cap or glasses and keep your face straight in the frame. Many failures come from dark rooms and tilted phones.
Scanned photo and prints. In case any step asks for a photo file, make a 3.5 x 4.5 cm photo with the SSC photo resizer and keep it under 50 KB with compress image to 50 KB. Print a few copies for the exam and physical tests.
Certificates. GD vacancies are divided by state, so your domicile certificate matters. Scan it along with any caste, NCC or ex-servicemen certificate, and keep each under the stated size with compress PDF to 200 KB.
Timeline notes
- GD 2026 (for reference): form 1–31 December 2025; exam first scheduled from 23 February 2026, with later reports of rescheduling.
- GD 2027 notice: expected October–December 2026, with a window of about a month.
- CBE: expected January–March 2027.
- Physical tests (PET/PST): follow some months after the CBE result.
Dates on coaching sites differ by several weeks. Only the notice on ssc.gov.in is final.
Getting the live photo right
The photo step is where many GD applications stall. Before you start it, sit facing a light source, keep a plain wall behind you, hold the camera at eye level and remove caps and glasses. If the form rejects the image, move to a brighter spot and try again rather than repeating it in the same light.
Common reasons applications get stuck
- Live photo failing because of light or framing.
- Signature in capital letters or outside 10–20 KB.
- Choosing a state for which you have no domicile certificate.
- Name or date of birth not matching the Class 10 certificate.
- Leaving the form to the last few days, when the portal is slow.
Keep your OTR login, application number and fee receipt in one place. You will need them for the admit card and every later stage.
