Signature

The SSC CGL 2027 notification is expected between March and June 2027. That is based on the 2026 cycle, which SSC planned for March but actually issued on 21 May 2026. The upload part is simple: your photo is captured live in the form, and you upload one 10–20 KB JPG signature. Prepare the signature and your one-time registration details now.

SSC CGL (Combined Graduate Level) is the Staff Selection Commission exam for Group B and C posts in central ministries and departments. Posts include assistant section officer, income tax inspector, auditor and others. Any graduate in the age range can apply.

What you need for the form

These rules are from the CGL 2026 cycle. SSC can change the process, so read the 2027 notice.

Item Format Size Notes
Live photo Captured in the form — Webcam or phone camera; face inside the frame; no cap, mask or sunglasses
Signature JPG/JPEG 10–20 KB Black or blue ink on white paper, about 4.0 x 2.0 cm, not in capital letters
One-time registration (OTR) On ssc.gov.in — Aadhaar or other ID, Class 10 details, contact details
Certificates (category, PwD, ex-servicemen) As per notice — Mostly checked at document verification; keep scans ready

Sources disagree on the signature's pixel size (140 x 60 and 236 x 79 are both quoted). The KB range, 10–20 KB, is what the portal checks most strictly.

How to prepare each file

Signature. Sign on plain white paper in your usual running hand. Use a black or blue pen and leave space around it. Photograph it in daylight, crop tightly and resize with the SSC signature resizer. If it is still too heavy, compress image to 20 KB brings it under the limit. Keep it above 10 KB so it stays clear.

Live photo. Sit in front of a plain light wall with light falling on your face. Remove caps, masks and sunglasses, and keep your face straight in the frame. The system checks image quality, so a dark room is a common cause of failure.

Printed photos and old-style uploads. Some SSC steps and other recruitment forms still ask for a scanned passport photo. The SSC photo resizer makes a 3.5 x 4.5 cm style photo for those, and printed copies are useful at the exam centre.

Certificates. If you will claim a reservation, scan the certificate and keep it under the stated size with compress PDF to 200 KB.

Timeline notes

  • SSC 2027-28 calendar: expected around January 2027 (the 2026-27 calendar came out on 8 January 2026).
  • Notification and form: expected March–June 2027. In 2026: 21 May to 22 June.
  • Correction window: a few days after the last date (29 June to 1 July in 2026).
  • Tier-I: expected two to three months after the form. In 2026 it was planned for August–September.
  • Tier-II: in 2026 it was planned for December.

SSC's calendar dates have slipped in recent cycles. Only the notice on ssc.gov.in is final.

Common reasons applications get stuck

  • A live photo that fails because of poor light, glasses or a face not centred in the frame.
  • A signature over 20 KB, under 10 KB, in capital letters, or too small and blurry.
  • OTR details, such as name or date of birth, that do not match Class 10 records.
  • Leaving it to the last two days, when the portal is slow.

Complete or update your OTR on ssc.gov.in before the notice. It is shared across SSC exams, so it helps for CHSL and other SSC forms too.

Questions

When will the SSC CGL 2027 form come out?

It is not announced. SSC's calendar planned CGL 2026 for March 2026 but issued it on 21 May 2026, so expect the 2027 notice somewhere between March and June 2027. The 2027-28 SSC calendar should give a target month.

Do I upload a photo for SSC CGL?

In 2026 the photo was captured live through a webcam or phone camera inside the application. Old or saved photos could not be uploaded. You still upload a scanned signature.

What is the SSC CGL signature size?

The 2026 rules asked for a JPG signature between 10 KB and 20 KB, about 4.0 cm wide and 2.0 cm high. Sources differ on pixel dimensions, so follow the notice.

Do I need a printed photo for SSC CGL?

Keep two or three recent passport size prints on a white background. They are commonly needed at the exam centre and for document verification. The admit card states the exact requirement.
