NEET UG 2026 was held on Sunday 3 May 2026, 2 pm to 5 pm. NEET UG 2027 was not in NTA's December 2026–March 2027 calendar.

For NEET UG 2027 you will need a passport size photo, a postcard size photo, your signature, finger and thumb impressions, and PDF certificates. In the 2026 cycle both photos had to be 10–200 KB, the signature 4–30 KB and certificates 50–300 KB. The form is expected to open in February 2027, with the exam on the first Sunday of May.
NEET UG is the single national entrance test for MBBS, BDS, AYUSH and many nursing and allied courses in India, run by the National Testing Agency (NTA). Over 22 lakh candidates registered in 2026.
What you need to upload
Specs below are from the 2026 information bulletin as reported by coaching and news sites. NTA tends to keep them, but always confirm in the 2027 bulletin.

How to prepare each file
Photos. Get one photo session done against a white wall in daylight and take it in the exam year, since the 2026 rule required a photo taken on or after 1 January 2026. Use the NEET photo resizer for the passport size photo. The postcard photo is larger, so if it goes above 200 KB use compress image to 200 KB.
Signature. Sign in black ink on plain white paper, in your normal running hand. Crop tightly and resize with the NEET signature resizer, keeping the file between 4 and 30 KB.
Finger and thumb impressions. Press each finger and thumb on a blue ink pad and then on white paper. Photograph the sheet in good light, crop each set as the form asks, and keep each file under 200 KB.
Certificates. Turn phone photos of your certificates into a PDF with JPG to PDF, then use compress PDF to 300 KB. Make sure the text is still readable.
Timeline notes
- Form opens: expected February 2027. In 2026 it opened on 8 February.
- Last date: expected early to mid-March 2027. In 2026 it was 8 March, extended to 11 March.
- Correction window: in 2026 a short correction window followed within a few days of the last date.
- Exam: expected first Sunday of May 2027, pen and paper. In 2026 it was 3 May, 2 pm to 5 pm.
- Result: expected June 2027.
NEET UG 2027 did not appear in NTA's tentative calendar for December 2026 to March 2027, so watch neet.nta.nic.in from January 2027.
Common reasons uploads get rejected
- A photo taken the previous year, a selfie, or a photo with a coloured background.
- Postcard photo missing the printed name and date.
- Faint or smudged thumb impressions, or impressions in black ink instead of blue.
- A signature in capital letters.
- A file just over the limit, or a certificate PDF too blurry to read.
On exam day you will need printed copies of the same photo, so order extra prints when you take it.
Questions
What is the NEET 2027 photo size?
In 2026 NTA asked for a passport size photo and a postcard size (4 x 6 inch) photo, each JPG between 10 KB and 200 KB, on a white background. Expect the same for 2027, but check the 2027 bulletin.
What is the NEET signature size in KB?
Most coverage of the 2026 form gives 4 KB to 30 KB in JPG for the signature. One report gave a higher range, so follow whatever the 2027 bulletin says.
Do I need a new photo for NEET 2027?
Yes. In 2026 the photo had to be taken on or after 1 January 2026, so for 2027 expect a photo taken in 2027 to be required. Print your name and the date at the bottom of the postcard photo if the bulletin asks for it.
When will the NEET 2027 form come out?
It is expected in February 2027, as the 2026 form opened on 8 February 2026. NTA has not announced the 2027 date.
