UPSC asks for a recent photo with a plain white background in which your face covers about three quarters of the frame. The uploaded photo must match the live photo captured while you fill in the form.
How to use it
- Take a clear photo or scan (good light, plain background).
- Choose it here. The form preset is already selected; edit the numbers if your notice differs.
- Download the file, already named photo.jpg or signature.jpg, and upload it to the portal.
Questions
What is the UPSC photo size?
Current guides give a JPG of 20–200 KB. Check the notice for your exam for the exact pixel range.
What if my notification gives different numbers?
Edit the width, height, minimum and maximum KB fields. The result updates instantly.
Why is my file slightly bigger than the original?
Some portals reject files below a minimum size. If the compressed photo is too small, the tool adds harmless padding data so it meets the minimum. The picture is unchanged.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. The tool runs entirely in your browser using JavaScript, so your files never leave your device. You can even disconnect from the internet after the page loads and it keeps working.
